well, i have decided blogger sucks.... it takes way too much time to load photos holy moly... i was going to put up more but that was crazy.... anyways.. summer is great... been having lots of fun. going to burning man ASAP on a psychedellica painted magic school bus.... awwwwwww yeah good times...

hey, so i am all moved... but i do not have access to internet at my new place... and that really sucks because.... I BOUGHT A NEW CAMERA! and its soooooooo amazing and i want to show off my new pics.... dammmmmmmn.... oh well... im hoping to get internet maybe next month... i cant really afford it right now since i, you know, bought A NEW WONDERFUL CAMERA and now im broke...

yeahhhhhhhhhhhh! im excited to have a new home. and i found out my favorite person in golden is going to be living like 4 houses down from me... how rad is that?!?!!?

but, onto other things... i took some shitty photos of the pink floyd skirt i made the other day...

this is the front... its an old t shirt for the front panel, and an old t shirt hem for the waist band...
and this is the back. its 2 kinds of stripey stretch knit fabric. the back actually sits straight... i just stand crooked.. i also have long underwear on underneath which im sure its sticking too...

i love it... super fun. and i got some fun compliments on it... sweet..

all my sewing garbage is at my new home.. hopefully we can get a sewing area aet up there soon.. i gotta keep this ball rollin.

its been a really quiet couple of weeks here.. 99 percent of who i know here has left (some to return soon) so its been, me, work and thats about it... i have completed somethings... its soothing... and it will be easier to move stuff (ie-fabric) when theres less of it.... yeah the few things i did make barely dented my fabric pile but thats ok... every little bit counts...

i gave away my last "felicity"hat, so i made a new one... its a little more bunchy in the back but i did it on purpose.. didnt want exaclty the same hat...
a friend requested a slouchy hat, so we looked at pics on the net and she decided on something like the "felicty" hat as well.... it is super cute and on the (right side of the hat in the pic) i left a little on ribbed portion where later on i sewed 2 buttons on.. its super duper cute on her and hopefully i can get pics one day..
i became intrigued with ysolda's garter mitts and had to make some..
short row shaping for the thumbs is amazing.
i reconned this shirt.. its pretty boring but whatever.. at least i would wear it now..
another pair of garter mitts (yeah 2 pairs in like 4 days and i plan on more) knit with noro..

this is a skirt with a drawstring waist i sewed. it was a huge rancid shirt, some leftover super soft t shirt material from a skirt that my roommate had made and then the hem of another shirt i cut off for the waist band. it has a shoelace i found randomly laying about my place and a little plastic doohickey for locking the strings in place....
i made another one of these skirts last night out of an old pink floyd shirt my ex roommate gave me a while back and some stripey knit material...

i have also made a needle roll for a swap which i have not taken pics of yet...

i think that is it for now...
now im off to move more shit and do some laundry... weeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

well, my landlord was showing off my pad for the new tenants (and byt the way... IT WAS SO MESSY!!!) so i went for a walk downtown and on the walk i took some pics of stuff that i always look at when i walk this way....

i finally have some pics to show and blogger is not letting me upload numerous pics at a time (well the big 5 it did allow before) i guess i will upload a few favs....

stupid blogger... oh nevermind... its now working... WTF....

so these pictures are from monday. me and leslie went for a walk to get some breakfast/lunch at our favorite place.... and then it was closed... so we walked all the way back to town and got some foodage there...then walked allllll the way back in the same direction the original food place was. but at least another half hour after the original 20 mintues from town.... it was closed....
then we walked all the way back at least 20 minutes to an overpass that had some cool grafiti on it that we wanted to take pics of.... so we crossed the road, crossed the tracks and hung out under the bridge.... we decided after chillin there for a bit snappin pics that maybe we will check out a little more on this other side of the tracks area....

found a dead animal of sorts.... yuck.... and also found this old abandoned torn down building area that is covered in cool grafiti... as we were checkin this out a train came... and stopped on the tracks blocking us from getting to the other side... (unless we crawled under it or over it!!! eek!)

so we then decided to see if we could walk further to find the end of the train that way... NOPE... too long.... so we walked back to the bridge overpass (10-15 minutes) walked up the side of the overpass and accross the bridge and down the other side and then stilll had a 10-15 minute walk back to town....shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit.... our lunch adventure took us close to 4 HOURS!!!!!!

so yeah.. heres some fun pics of the adventures!!!
sorry no knitting.. i did finish the capelet that i was making as requested and sold it and made some cash!!! also im almost done a hat that my friend requested... a slouchy "felicity" hat like the green one i made for myself recentlyish... its really pretty and shes going to love it... soon i will have pics of it up...

i had a pretty good birthday just hanging out with friends and such...

nothing new on the needles. i just finished (its currently blocking) another short capelet that i am being paid to knit for someone... hopefully it fits!! she will get it on tuesday im thinking...

well, now that thats over im going to finish off an old fuzzy scarf i have on the needles and then i want to do some sewing...

i will be moving to another place in town at the end of the month (well, thankfully i get to move throughout the month)

hmmmm im quite boring now arent i.... maybe i will get some fun pics soon to share... new homes and all...

I started this capelet right before i went to jamaica. worked on it in jamaica and finished it tonight. im wearing it to my sisters wedding reception back home and i felt i needed some coverage for it....
its knit with patons classic merino wool top down raglan. 1.8 balls of yarn....

thats about it... speaks for itself... i shall post pics of it with the dress when i get them in a weekish..

also... this is my new art display.. its leslies old snowboard and her snowboard bag stuffed with yarn.... 2 opposite hobbies... i didnt "set this up" it just kinda happened and we had a laugh about it.. thought i would share...

this is my version of the baby viking hat... super cute...
this is some fabric destashing i did... i gave her a few meters of fabric...

And the whole package on the crocheted baby blanket.. in the left corner is a little corduroy patch with "Adam" embroidered on it... (the baby boys name)

i made everything from stuff i had in my stash pretty much.... and i got rid of some extra fabric too which is sweet.... i need to rid myself of my mini fabric store... its a bit overwhelming...

anyways.... im going to play around on my "new" computer.... it had a little "seizure" the other da and got it all medicated and now its working great.... woot...

EDITED TO ADD NEW PHOTOS OF FINISHED HAT

the yarn is SIRDAR COUNTRY STYLE double knitting yarn.... its really soft.. the "drape" is nice... and the stitch definition is great.... im pretty stoked to have this hat... i love the color of green... the pattern used is.... FELICITY
but i did change up the pattern... it called for worsted weight and i used a yarn thats a little under that so i just added on 10 stitches (on 1 size smaller needle then called for, both sizes) and i think i added one more set of increases as well... and i think i did a few extra rows in between incs and decs.... but, the basic idea was from the pattern...
and back to original post...

well, im not really sure what happened to January and February is zooooooming by.... i figured i should post something.... at the end of january i went back home for 24 hours.. i had some visits with friends and i also sold my car.... its gone... done like dinna... im sad to see it go, but stoked to not have to pay for it..

this is little baby Echo wearing my hat... he just turned one a few days before my visit... hes such a little doll... i cried when i left ... hes all walking now and its so cute... it makes me sad that i miss it...

and this is mike humping his new car.... i sold my car to my ex.... so its ok.. i will still get to see her and im sure i can get rides in her when im near...
i still havent photographed any of the knitting i have been doing for this craftster swap i am in... soon... im almost done the sweater for my friend john... need to finish up the hem on the one sleeve, knit the other sleeve and then the hood.... the other sleeve will go pretty quickly since i wont have to keep getting him to try it on to make sure the fit is good...
im also currently knitting a slouchy hat for me.... its the "felicity" hat... im hoping it turns out ok and looks good on my head cause the yarn is nice and a great color... hmmmm nothing else new really... except the fact that im going to JAMAICA on saturday!!!!! yeah... when did that sneak up on me?!?!?! i can hardly even believe it... so anyways... i should go. i want to sew a bag for taking to the beach.... wow... beach.. hot sun... sand.... shit yeah...

Leslie gave me an old hoodie. so i cut apart n old Tool shirt . (yes i have a billion of them) So theres the front logo TOOL on the right hand pocket.And this was on the back of the shirt. it was a concert shirt... good memories...
This was on the front of the shirt under the TOOL sign.. now its on my hood.
you can see the eye when the hood's down... i love it.
AND SOME KNITTING. i started this sweater (top down raglan) for my friend john. not this past saturday but the one before that. so i finished nearly the whole body of the (mans) sweater in a week pretty much. i just have to do a contrasting color hem on the bottom now.... then its the sleeves. smooth sailing... its going pretty fast considering its HUGE....
hmmmmm not too much else to say.... selling my car start of Feb.... this should be interesting... freeing up approx. 300+ dollars a month.... WOWEE

im also knitting a few more things but they are for a swap on craftster so im going to hold off on photos of those for a bit... but its some pretty fun stuff...

well, its effin cold here in the mountains now.... no better time to lock myself in my house with my knitting, sewing machine and movies...

OK so i have made some shtuff.... this is me rockin my latest 2 items....
This is the new radtastic half zip up long sleeve shirt i made last night... i look grumpy but im really not. im really happy...

I knit this new hat while on the bus to San Fran... its Patons SWS yarn and its just a simple hat...

And thats about it.... i sewed the shit outta my finger when making the shirt... good times... yes for late night sewing...

FEWF!!!!!!!!! now that was a CHAOTIC couple of weeks.... lets recap..
this is a christmas hat i knit for my mom... she said she wanted a pom pom... so she got one.
ew crooked... whoops... this is a hat i knit out of noro and black wool for my little sister for christmas..
its got a pony tail hole slot in the back... i was going to do buttons but i decided velcro was good for her...

This is a hat i made for my sister for christmas.. i think shes getting a little sick of getting hats everywhere... oh well... i dont think she realizes its hats.. or nothing...

my mom paid my way to bus to go see family for christmas.. it was fun. always great times with family. i knit another hat on the bus down and ended up giving it to my cousin. she really dug my knitting which is cool. no pics though... i also knit a hat for her dad (my uncle) he was whining that he wasnt getting any knitting... so i whipped out a hat for him before i left. no pics either... it was just simple black and grey though.. so, i was back in golden for 2 days then OFF TO SAN FRANCISCO!!

This is our little crew from canada in our hotel room before the show. it was a costume party... my friend Tawn on the left dressed up really pretty with crafted out shoes she made into bright red glitter shoes while in san fran. then me in the blue moo moo hippie dress.. i didnt have a costume the day of the show so we went to thrift stores and i found this fun dress and decided to be a hippie (original i know) then at the show we drew an X on my forehead and i said i was a chick in the Manson Family... Then theres the Devil poking his head out around me... thats Mike. Then Leslie, shes not wearing her mask but she crafted this costume... She knit a ninja turtle hat, with pigtail holes in the back and the eye part is pink and she cut up shirts and stuff to make the top and elbow bands and knee bands. she also reconned a pair of green mittens into "turtle gloves" and she had a store bought (thrift store find) ninja turtle shell as well.... she looked great... OH i guess i should say... she was going as Leonardo's Girlfriend... the less talked about turtle.... Mona Lisa.... hells yeah.... it was a great idea and people loved it...

This is Mike, X and Leslie playing Rockstar... seriously the funnest game EVER! way better then Guitar Hero... you have Guitar, Bass, Vocals and drums... its so interactive and fun. and the music selection is fabulous.... i even sang a few songs!!! it was baaaaaaaaaad. bahahaha but still fun!
And this is Leonard. Trish's cat... hes a fun little guy...
So yes, the trip was amazing... even though we had to take the bus down and back... nearly 2 full days on the bus each way... but so completely worth it... The show was amazing The Mars Volta did an acoustic set at 8pm then a bunch of DJ's played and then Mars Volta came back on and played for nearly 2.5 hours!! they stopped at the new year and did a countdown and a bunch of balloons fell and everyone hugged and what not... and they kept playing and it was amazing....

well... i dont know what more to day other then.. FUCK YEAH happy new year ya'll!!!!! hope it was a good one... no resolutions this year... except to keep on moving onwards and upwards!

SO, i guess i should start back a bit. Me and Leslie left here to go back to where I lived to pick up some friends and visit a bit then go to Saskatoon to go see Tool... Well, we get to town after a 4.5 hour drive. We stop in at where I used to work for a short visit. i go to my car insurance place to change my addy and stuff. we hit up michaels to check out the yarn selection. oh and we went to value village... thi probably took about an hour and a half tops... so then we go to our friend mikes house and we pick up some buddies to go out for supper... well on the way i hit a BIG ASS patch of ice, cant slow down and smash my car (which is supposed to drive 5 of us to Tool the next morning)... SO we are stranded on the other end of town, in FREEZING cold weather and i have to wait for the cops... great. fun times... So this whole thing took like 2 hours to clear up where i had to sit in my car, not on no heat and i froze my ass off.. when it came time to write my statement i couldnt even move my fingers properly to hold the pen... it sucked balls...

so basically, i didnt really give a shit about the car. we were just concerned at how we were going to get to tool.. 6 hours away...
So, in the midst of all of this i lost my book out of m backpack that has all my phonenumbers in it... really cool. made things real easy... NOT.

basically i had to call 2 people and tell them i cant get them out there.. sorry. the third guy i was trying to help him figure out a way to the show... but he was at work and couldnt chat alot, and he was kinda being a bitch about it so i said fuck it.... i havent even figured out how me and leslie are going. he can fend for himself... (turns out he couldnt find a way out to the show, and then cried... whoops)

SO im on the phone all night with various friends who are going we finally find a car that only has 2 people in it and they let us come with them and IT WAS SOOOO SUPER FUN. hahaha i had a blast. the show was fantastic. all of our friends were there and it was just surreal to be seeing tool again... the show was unbelievable...

So we get back to red deer, i give some info to my sister, my keys, and me and leslie bus it back to Golden (which is normally a 4.5 hour car ride turned into a 9 hour bus fiasco)

ALL IN ALL, im ok, my friends were ok, we got to the show... so im not really fretting this whole car thing. its in the shop to be fixed at some point... who knows when... after that i think im selling it to my ex, mike... im ok with not having a car... it will be good to have a break from it..

the only thing that blows.... IS IM GOING TO SAN FRANCISCO at the end of the month and i was supposed to drive.... so now i think we are taking the bus.... 1.5days on the bus... yuck... but its worth it... IM GONNA SEE THE MARS VOLTA!!
that is so effin cool... and. lik 5 more friends from back home are going. me and leslie, a girl we know in SF from burning man is going to meet up with us and like 6 people from Reno that we know from Burning Man will be going as well.... fuck yeah...

And more fun stuff... last night i went to an art show of Man Woman.... hes this crazy hippie Pop Art artist.... with a vagina tattooed on his forehead... yes.. i said vagina... m friend has the pics on his camera so eventually i will get those here to show.. but it was mega cool. i think the website is ManWoman

well. i do have a few pics to show.. nothing knitting related. i have been knitting lots but our friend took a big box of knit things to her work to see if anyone wanted to purchase any of it. so i dont know if i will be able to take pics of everything.. nothing really that fantastic. just hats, and some armwarmers and such...

FINALLY HERES the pics!

well, i guess it was a good thing... someone effed up a transformer thingy here and all the power got cut off in the town. literally the whole town shut down. it was awesome... so work was cancelled... which would have been cool cause i was feeling really inspired to sew... no power. means no sewing machine... ok... fine.. so read... and read and read. im reading The Giver by Lois Lowry. I just started it this morning and i am liking it so far. im almost halfway...
i just finished reading Choke by Chuck Palahniuk. now that was a messed up book...

anywho. so i got bored and wanted to go for a walk. i went to see if anything was open.. and nope. nada... so i then decided to walk along the river to the train tracks and then head home it was definately over an hour long walk. it was good stuff.. nice and brisk out.. i also snapped some pics of some fun stuff along the way... one day when its sunny out i will get more.. it snowed on us last night and we had a running snowball fight on our walk/run downtown.. it was super fun. i have never been excited for snow and im loving it right now.

ok, lots of photos.. you ready for this?

I will get photos of the town i live in (cause its surrounded by mountains and its beautiful) when its nice outside. its definately cold and dark right now... anyways... this is the inside of my place. its a basement suite in a house. its cute. and a good size for me and leslie (and a good price)

This is the view to the left of the door when you first come in. On saturday i will be getting my fabric and some more of everything so this view will be changing...
this is just turned a little more to the right to see more of the kitchen. its a great size and has a good oven and fridge.
this is over a little more to the right. there is our movie and book shelf and then theres the hallway to the bathroom and thats it down there. and then our living room area. those are me and leslies old grannie knitting chairs. the bendy lights focus down onto each of our chairs. im on the right there.. this will also change because we are getting some different furniture and such in on saturday... the place came well furnished. 2 beds, a tv, coffee table, 2 chairs, kitchen table as well as some dishes and pots and pans and cutlery and cups... its a GREAT score.
this is alittle more to the right. these are me and leslies rooms right off the living room. im on the left. i gave leslie the bigger room because she lived ina closet last year. literally. a closet...
and this is more to the right on the other side of the living room theres our tv and super nintendo.. our savior.. Tetris and Dr Mario are getting a good workout. and then thats back at the door there.

this is the view from the corner of my room out. pretty much what you see is what you get. it doesnt have a closet. just a bar above my bed that i can hang clothes on. its a good thing i dont own much clothing cause it hangs over my bed... also to the left is my minimal floor space which holds.... randomness...

Theres nothing to do really here. its a mega small town and im BROKE. so i have been knitting my stash like a mad woman.... seriously. i have knit a BUTT LOAD since being here. i dont think im going to write much about these knits. there is details on ravelry for those who play there... but just ask any questions that you have for any of these items aiight.

and i havent even really made a dent in my box o' stash....

oh yeah, and i guess i should say more about new town life. i got a job and have worked 2 shifts so far its in a really cool laid back cafe that features AMAZING food. lots of vegetarian choices and more "exotic" items. not just your boring ol sandwhiches and such. its all homemade. locally owned and operated and yeah.. it rocks alot. i get to wear whatever i want to work (well, workable clothes, but band shirts and jeans or whatever) its pretty cool. and i am getting good hours and the pay is good too. which is good cause like i said.. im EFFIN BROKE. and i have lots to pay for this month. including my trip to see Tool again.. yes i know. im broke. shouldnt i be prioritizing.... MEH... i just have to work harder i guess..

I MISSED THE INTERNET. i admit. im a junkie.. but theres not much else to do here in my new home... not till it gets a little busier with all the tourists and such..

I knit this just cause.. i needed to do some stash busting. and im so digging this hat style... this hat was knit in like an hour.. I LOVE BIG NEEDLES AND BIG YARN! just thought i would get that out there...

Knit with MEGA super chunky yarn by King Cole.. it was 1 ball out of 2 that i bought in Edmonton sometime last year or the year before... who knows.. but, they are both used up now! im currently working on another hat in this style... i wonder who gets that one.... meh, we'll see..

thank you for all the nice comments... i really appreciate the feedback... i was really nervous to go blonde again. and i really miss my purple hair (and other colors) but, i have become more adjusted to the new look.. and its ok... i feel good about my decision to go blonde... i am looing forward to growing out the locks... oh, and the other day i also took out my lip ring... i have been thinking about taking it out for a bit now.. an i was expectin to have to take it out for a new job.. then the other day the ball fell off (again) and i said screw it.. and took it out.. i miss it. but its ok. its just a piercing.. no big whoop. i still havent adjusted my lip chap putting on routine.. it feels weird to be able to put it on the whole way across the lip no just side and then other side..

I just finished these today while watching Blood Diamond.. it was ok... interesting enough anyways... but it didnt ever pull me away from my knitting...

anyways. these are knit with Patons Rumor yarn knit flat and then seamed up the back. there is elastic weaved through the top to keep them up... The are actually pretty bell shaped but these photos arent really picking up on that... they are really cozy and i wish i had money so i could get myself some yarn and knit myself a pair.... oh if anyone is interested in knitting a pair of legwarmers out of patons rumour yarn that have a bell shape i did write down what i did... i think its basically the same as other legwarmers i have made.. these ones seem more "bell" like..

so i have started uploading some pics from my vacation this summer to burning man... im just slow.... its boring and i have knitting i can be doing... so soon... soon i will have some pics..

I saw on craftster.org a hat that someone had made... it was inspired by a hat the little girl wore in The Secret Garden... and i knew i had to make one for my friend Leanna.... so i bought some yarn and VOILA here it is... my version of The Secret Garden Tam by loudxmouse on craftster....

I knit this hat with Patons Shetland Chunky yarn...

Leanna has alot of dreads so this hats going to look fabulous on her... And shes all hippie like so the earthy brown color is perfect. I used Patons rumour for the pom pom.. which by the way was my first pom pom ever.... they are cool... i think i might make a scarf all outta pom poms... they always look cute...

well.. onto other non knitting news.... I have decided that i will be moving to Golden, BC with my bestest buddy Leslie... its only a few hours away. Its a cosy little town that has a really nice ski resort in it.... Kicking Horse somethingorother...

so yeah. i think we wil have internet.. but who knows... i want to move by no later then november... times are a changin... thank goodness..

i was online at 3am last night and my buddy cory came on.. he was saying how he thought his burning man costume had arrived that day.... he jokingly said that he should put it on and walk around where he lives by... which is a prety busy road... busyish at 3 am... and i said if he did i would totally come... so we went for it... hahaha

so i bought this yarn yesturday and was so inspired.. i had to knit a scarf for a friend who is going to burning man.. who i HOPE doesnt read this if so LIZ DO NOT LOOK ANY FURTHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok, so i bought the yarn and walked out of the isle and i saw fake leaves/ flowers... so had to get some of both and i had this grand idea to knit a scarf and then sew on falling leaves on the scarf...

so this picture shows the length and color of scarf. the yarn is Red Heart Light and Lofty and its knit on 12mm needles all garter stitch and the fringe is all lengths with some leaves sewn into it and some of it is also braided..

and heres a pic with the leaves on it... i will get better pics either another day or at burning man... but either way im in love with it.... seriously love it...

and here are my new legwarmers.. they are the exact same as the other ones i have made... jsut black... wooo.... (that was sarcasm, i love them... but BORING)

and i bought some new sunglasses for burning man.. they are nice and big so i dont think i will need goggles... i was making some hair clips (glueing on fake flowers to flippy clips) and i was inspired to glue a fake flower onto my shades... and yes... i am totally wearing these before burning man... im am diggin them...
umm yeah.. got some more burning man gifts to make.. so i best be getting on that!!!!

This pic is for Dawn... it has more of my roof in it... theres stars and comets and planets as well as some halloween stickers too.. theres cats, witches hats, bats, etc.. i love my car... the stickr up there says Bald Chicks Are Hot.. i made them when i shaved my friend Leslies hair off. the other sticker is just a Tool sticker that was on the cd when i bought it... umm yeah.. when get in my car again maybe i will take some more pics of it... maybe some of the stickers on the outside of the car..

so i finally finished knitting the million dollar hat from punk knits... it took 2.5 balls of lambs pride bulky yarn... the pattern only called for 2... i think i went up a needle size though. or maybe it was i went down a size... meh.. who knows... anyways. i had the yarn in my stash so the more yarn it used up the better... this pic is prefelting... its HUGE!! hahaha. i realy hope it shrinks down to a good size... felting kinda scares me.. i will get around to felting it soon. i want to get a few more things together to felt first though....
i connected the 3rd and 4th balls or noro last night... im super diggin this scarf.. its pretty.... the new colors are a little dark right now. i hope it starts to brighten up soon...
i bought more yarn... (yeah, i suck at stash busting) but its cool cause i know what im going to make from it. i am going to remake the blue and black shrug i made previously. with the x's down the hood... i wil find a pic another day.... so as soon as i am done this scarf im starting the shrug...

i bought the noro and this is what i am making from it... http://brooklyntweed.blogspot.com/2007/04/noro-scarf.html its Brooklyntweeds generic 1x1 noro striped scarf. i have been wanting to make as scarf like this for a while now. i started making a bag with the same 2x2 rows but got distracted and never finished. it wasnt until on craftster.org someone posted their completed scarf and i was in a vulnerable state and i had to break down and buy some noro.. and i had to use it immediately then to not keep it around in my already too big stash..... so out comes this beautiful display. i love the colors together. i love noro. i love to knit with noro espeacially outside on the grass (or at the beach) that way all the unknown plant matter that always comes in noro, is not noticed!

im a little further along then this.. and i will work on it more tonight. but its slow goings... k1p1 is a slow stitch pattern for me... but i like it cause its mindless...

well i went to the yarn store today. i havent been in months. hardly even looked at yarn that wasnt in my stash in months... but today i needed some cheering up so i went and bought some NORO. yes. i did... i couldnt resist... pretty colors hey... oh and it was funny. the yarn store had been broken into on the weekend, which is not funny, but at the same time.. who breaks into a yarn store? i would... i didnt but i would... anyone else with me? it would be like disneyland...
i also stopped into value village. i picked this little baby up... isnt that sweater too much fun.... the lcouds and rainbow make me happy.... i gotta use that chart for something..

and this cute sweater jacket was on the next page... how cute is that... i want to make one for me!

as for the new music in my title of my post. that would include the new Smashing Pumpkins cd out. Zeitgeist.... i am diggin it right now... check it out. number 7 called United States is super...

also i am currently listening to Muse. as recommended by Gord... which i like. its Radiohead like... well. thats what i have gotten from it so far.. im only a few songs in...

this big blog (in which i just realized i didnt rotate the pic.. meh) is the almost finished hat from punk knits.... it still needs a few more rows on the brim and then to felt it.... its going to be fun!
this is the pic of the original hat in the pattern... i used some stash yarn for this project which is good cause i told myself im not allowed to buy yarn until like the end of summer... yep... (except, i might run out to buy some Noro to cheer me up... but thats different :)
this is the book the patterns in.... i bought it jsut for the hat pattern.... the rest of the book is blah... lots os stuff i can just do myself... but i wanted this hat!

so before the big change i told my friend in reno that i would love to knit something for her. we both decided on a shawl for her wedding. then a pattern and yarn.... well with the move and stuff i tried to work on it as much as i could. got it finished but had no internet so i couldnt even get her addy to send it to her. well i think the wedding is tomorrow and i just got the addy today basically.... so. unfortunately it will be late. she says she doesnt mind though. (but really, i stil need to weave in the ends and block it! whoops... my bad) The pattern is the flower petal shawl from elann.com and the yarn is super kydd or something like that.. its incredibly light and i still have 2.6 balls left of the yarn! i way over ordered...

this is the shawl on... it wil be longer with blocking. but its a perfect light wrap... man i wish i could have gotten it to her on time :( how pretty would she have looked... oh and i totally would have cropped and fixed up the photo but im laptop retarded and dont know how to drag stuff with the little finger mouse pad thing... i think im going to get a mousie today... make life easier..
this is something else i was to make before the big change... there wa0s no due date for this... but, at first i was not going to make them (even though i bought the yarn already) but then i got more settled in my new place, took a break from the shawl and whipped these up... the request was for blue arm warmers and grey ribbon.. so TADAA thats what i did... i love em...

yes, i still sew...and i decided to remake my long black jacket... i think it turned out pretty badass... the zippers a little ripply but meh... i got to do the things to this coat that i wish i had on the other one... zippered pockets, longer sleeves and i think eventually i will put some thumb holes on it... it still has the big ole cloak like hood on it that i love.. its great... very gothic... i love it alot...

This is a hat i finished today for a coworker... i told her about the Hello Kitty hat i made and she was really excited... because she wanted a My Neighbour Totoro hat.... so does it look like him/it? i am not to familiar with him/it... but it was fun to make!

mikes brother found this guys site... its his view of Burning Man 2005. that was the first year we went...

its pretty cool. the one thing that really bothered me about it is he talks about how at burning man only the cute/hot chicks wear fur boots and that in a few years its going to be "so last year" to have it.... well.. thats dumb and fur is worn cause, well cause ya can! why not. you cant wear fur everyday in the "real world" so you wear it at burning man...

Well, this pile is my keyhole top from fitted knits... yeah, wrong type of top for my body shape... so, its gettin riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiipped...
so here it is... yep, 3 full balls of yarn... i was almost done the whole body of it... dang nabbit.

AND. my interchangables are wrecking... they ends where they connect are bending out... it sucks cause the yarn catches on it... and well.. it just sucks... what should i do? contact them... did i do something wrong... stupid stuff breaking...

Now that its warmer out, i get to bring out my bike! isnt she pretty... i cant decide what else im going to do to her for Burning Man... it looked like this last year... hmmmmm ideas?

This is my new converse runner flower pot... its nailed onto the top of our trellis thing... but its right by the back door so i can watch it grow and make sure to water it..
This is our new patio umbrella... it was free.... unfortunately it has advertising all over it... so we will definately need to get some spray paint....
Oh yeah, first we had to melt the crap out of the middle of our table to make it fit..
OH AND!!!!! i got our Burning Man tickets too!!!!! ADMIT ONE EARTHLING!... sweet...

this is my key hole top from fitted knits... i started it like 2 weeks ago but then put it down for a week... i just got finished with the bust shaping... which i love... i have never done that before. i like how it fits... so i have like 4 more inches then i can do the bottom ribbing ad what not... sweet.... hopefully i can knit my butt off tonight and get to that point tonight...

I made this bag for my little sister last week... she took these pics and sent them to me cause i forgot to...

its pink and girly and it has skulls... its lso reversible... theres 2 pockets on each side (inside and out) theres also a cool pink and glittery skull patch on this side... i finished it the night before i had to give it to her after working a 16 hour day.... yeah it sucked... oh well its done... and she loved it..

i took monday night off of work and me and mike were finally able to get out and enjoy some nice weatehr. we walked downtown got some subway and walked to the river to eat it.. it was super... so this is the first pic of the "summer" i cant waite to go on more walks and bike rides and see what else we can find!

this is my new "spider" lamp i got today... its so cool.. i put one red bulb in it and one blue bulb in it.... its a neat effect for our living room... also below the lamp in the pic is my new filing thingy for knitting/crocheting patterns... sweaters, winter stuff, misc. etc... so nifty!

heres the lamp with the flash off.... i love how the red light lights up the slayer framed record on the wall... its bad ass... and the lights are dimmable and moveable... so perfect for late night knittin!

2 new things.... my finished entrelac scarf knit out of patons classic merino wool the colors are off... its blue, darker blue, cream, lighter brown and dark brown.. i like how the squares are all stripey and i cannot waite to do another entrelac project in SWS or a NORO yarn... the other new thing in the pic is my new blocking boards. and since we are a little short of room due to our basement flooding i made it into a cube and just laid the scarf over it... its perfect!

i decided i would try and make a cat toy... i have never made one before but i own catnip.. so i gave er a go... its black felt with some fun printed felt that i made it look (hopefully) like a kitty paw... come to think of it.. i dot remember if my swap partner even has a cat... well. i must have gotten the idea of giving her a cat toy from somewhere... well, i need to go investigate this..

heres me with the new hello kitty hat on.... whaddya think... i dont really do hello kitty so im not sure if this resembles it... the eyes are buttons and the nose is felt. the whiskers are black yarn... its knit out of bernat satin acrylic yarn (shes allergic to wool) there is a little piece of the hook side of velcro by the one ear so she can change up the style of bow she wants to wear... i hope that was a good idea.. the felt seemed like it would stick to the velcro piece... if not im sure she can rigg a pin of sorts for it..

so honest opions... is it ok?

ENTRELAC.... wow is that good stuff... who would have thought picking up stitches would be so much fun?! and addicting! just one more square... just one more square.... i am planning on some pics for later to show what i have been working on....

as for my other obsession.... Nintendo Wii.... oh my god i love it... my friend has one and i cant get enough... im honestly woke up today and was like.. im buying a Wii... well its a good thing that no where has any cause that was a very irrational decision... but its just to fun... and you look like a total dork while playing.. and i love that... so anyways.. the guy said that they might get some more in in a week and a half... so i have until then to think about it...see if i still want it.. like the King Crimson song... Indiscipline i believe... or is it discipline... anywho.. doent matter... they are a great band and its a great song... and Wii is great fun...

so i am going through my fabrics again.... since i bought all this new fun stuff i am getting rid of the scraps/ unwanted fabrics... i know i should just STOP buying them and start using the old stuff... which i am trying to do... its just hard... working in a fabric store is very stressfull. being surrounded by all that wonderful stuff...
